Die Cut Stickers and Decals for Nesconset, New York
Die-cut stickers for Nesconset, cut to the outline of your own artwork. About 13 miles east of our counter in Huntington, in a straight line.
A ring of five
Lake Grove is 2.0 miles off, St. James and Smithtown are both 2.6, and Lake Ronkonkoma and Ronkonkoma are both 2.7. Five places we already cover, and not one of them further out than 2.7 miles. Nesconset sits in the middle of that ring, in the township of Smithtown, in Suffolk County, under ZIP 11767. That matters more than it first sounds when you are ordering decals for a group rather than for yourself. A roster drawn from inside a circle that small can be served by one artwork file and one count, instead of six small orders that each pay a higher rate.
What 500 team decals actually cost
Die cut stickers here are priced by the square inch, and the rate per square inch falls as the count rises. Take the size most youth sports teams land on: a 2 by 3 inch decal, which is 6 square inches. At 500 pieces the rate is 22 cents per square inch. Six square inches at 22 cents is $1.32 per decal, and 500 of those is $660.00. That is the merchandise figure for the whole run, not a deposit. A manager working from a per family contribution can divide it straight across the roster and know the number before collecting a dollar from anyone.
Where the rate changes
The full ladder runs like this: 35 cents per square inch at 1 to 24 pieces, 30 cents at 25 to 49, 28 cents at 50 to 99, 26 cents at 100 to 249, 24 cents at 250 to 499, and 22 cents at 500. The bands reward consolidation, which is the reason it is worth a conversation with the other coaches before anybody orders. Two squads buying 40 decals each pay the 30 cent rate twice. The same 80 decals placed as one order fall into the 50 to 99 band at 28 cents. Push the combined count to 100 and the rate is 26. Nothing about the art changes, only the count.
There is an order minimum, and it is set low on purpose. An order qualifies at 10 or more pieces or at $10 of merchandise, whichever comes first. It is not a price floor, so a handful of large decals clears it on value alone.
Art that still reads from the sideline
A youth team logo tends to arrive as one of three things: a vector file from whoever printed the uniforms, a flat image lifted off a jersey mockup, or a photo of an embroidered patch. All three can become a die cut, but they are handled differently. Vector art cuts cleanly at any size, because the outline is already a line rather than a guess. A flat image needs enough resolution at the finished size, so a 2 by 3 inch decal wants art that is sharp at 2 by 3 inches, not a thumbnail stretched up to fit. A patch photo has to be traced back into clean flat shapes first, since stitch texture and shadow give a cutter nothing to follow.
Cut lines, outlines and thin spurs
Die cut means the sticker is cut to the shape of the design rather than left sitting on a rectangle. For a team decal that usually means the outline of a shield, a mascot, a circle or a lettered wordmark, with a thin even margin carried around the art so the cut never crosses a line of the design. The part worth thinking about in advance is thin detail: the tail on a script letter, a bat handle poking out of a crest, the point of a star. Those spurs sit better if they are thickened slightly before the outline is drawn. If you are not sure what the cut should follow, say so with the file and we will draw it and show you.
Coming west, or having it sent
Everything is printed and cut at one address, 205 East Main Street in Huntington, and Nesconset is 13.0 miles east of it in a straight line. You can have a run shipped anywhere in the United States, or collect it at the shop at no charge, which is what most team managers do when somebody is heading that way regardless. Checkout does not require an account.
Who these runs are usually for
The travel team manager ordering one decal per family, plus spares for the coaching staff and a few for the equipment bags. That order normally lands in the 100 to 249 band, and it is usually the spares that carry it across a break rather than the roster itself.
The club treasurer in Nesconset buying for several age groups in one go. One artwork file, one combined count, one invoice, then the decals get split by squad afterwards. This is the usual route to the 500 piece rate.
The parent volunteer running a fundraiser table who will be selling decals alongside everything else. The sizing question here is different: what will somebody hand over a few dollars for, rather than what fits neatly on a bin lid.
The coach who wants a small set and nothing more. A crest for the equipment bin, a name decal for the cooler, numbers for a clipboard. Ten pieces clears the minimum, and so does ten dollars of merchandise, so a short run is an ordinary order rather than an awkward one.
Questions team managers ask
Can you confirm the 500 piece figure for a Nesconset squad at 2 by 3 inches?
Yes. Six square inches at the 500 piece rate of 22 cents per square inch works out to $1.32 per decal, so 500 of them is $660.00 of merchandise. Shipping, if you have it sent, is separate and priced at checkout.
Our Nesconset team only needs 40 decals. Which rate applies, and should we round up?
40 pieces sits in the 25 to 49 band at 30 cents per square inch. Ten more pieces moves the whole order into the 50 to 99 band at 28 cents, and that lower rate applies to every piece, not only the extra ten. Whether to round up depends on whether you have a use for spares, but the arithmetic usually argues for it.
Some of our families are nearer Lake Grove or St. James than the shop. Can one person collect the whole Nesconset order?
Yes. One person can take the entire run from 205 East Main Street at no charge and split it up afterwards. The collector does not have to be the person who placed the order, as long as they have the order details.
Our Nesconset club crest only exists as a photo of an old embroidered patch. Can you work from that?
We can, but it gets redrawn before anything is cut. A patch photo carries thread texture and shadow that a cutter cannot interpret, so the crest is traced back into clean flat shapes and a cut outline is built around the result. You see a proof of the redrawn version and approve it before the run goes ahead.
Can a Nesconset order ship to an 11767 address under a manager's name instead of the club's?
Yes. The shipping name and the billing name do not have to match, so a manager's home address in 11767 is fine for a club order. If you want the club named on the packing slip, put it in the order notes and it will be carried through.
