How we handle your information at Long Island Stickers. Last updated September 24, 2026.
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to longislandstickers.com and to orders placed through it. The site is operated by On The Island Apparel Inc., trading as Long Island Stickers, at 205 E Main St, Ste 2-1, Huntington, NY 11743. Where this policy says "we" or "us", it means that company.
You can reach us about anything on this page at [email protected] or 631-458-3842.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details. Your name, email address, phone number and company or organization name, from the order, quote and contact forms.
- Order details. The size, quantity, material, border and background you configured, your fulfillment choice, and any notes you add to the order.
- Shipping address. Only when you choose shipping rather than pickup.
- Artwork files. Anything you upload, along with the original filename, file type and size.
- Messages. What you write in the contact form or send us by email, and our replies.
Information collected automatically
- Technical request data. Our hosting and security provider records standard request information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to serve the site and to protect it from abuse.
- Usage events. We record that certain actions happened, for example that an order was started or that an upload completed, so we can tell which parts of the site work and which do not.
What we do not collect
We never see or store your card number. See the payments section below. We do not ask for a date of birth, a Social Security number, or any government identifier. There are no customer accounts on this site, so there is no password of yours for us to hold.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Square. Your card details are entered into fields that Square controls and are transmitted directly to Square. They do not pass through our servers, and we do not store, log or have any means of retrieving them.
What we do store is what Square gives back to us: an identifier for the payment, an identifier for the order, the amount, the status, and the last few digits and card brand where Square provides them for receipt purposes. Square's own handling of your information is governed by Square's privacy policy, not by this one.
Your artwork
Artwork is the most sensitive thing most customers give us, because it is often a logo or an unreleased design. It is handled accordingly.
- Stored privately. Uploaded files are held in private cloud storage. There is no public link to them. They are served only through an authorized route that requires either a short-lived token tied to your own order or authenticated staff access.
- Filenames are not reused. Files are stored under randomly generated keys, never under the name you uploaded. Your original filename is kept as a label so we can talk to you about the right file.
- The original is kept with the order, and is never overwritten. If you use background removal, or if we prepare a corrected production file, those are stored as separate additional files. Your original always survives untouched. This is deliberate: it means a reorder can be matched to what you actually sent, and it means neither of us has to rely on memory about what was submitted.
- We do not use your artwork for anything else. We do not license it, sell it, put it in a stock library, or use it in our own advertising without asking you first and getting a yes.
How we use your information
- To produce and fulfill the order you placed.
- To review your artwork and contact you if there is a problem with it.
- To take payment and to issue refunds where they are due.
- To send transactional email: confirmations, status updates, proofs, and pickup or shipping notices.
- To answer questions you send us.
- To price and respond to a quote request.
- To keep the accounting and tax records the law requires us to keep.
- To protect the site from fraud and abuse.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Who we share it with
Only the service providers needed to run the business, and only with what they need:
- Square, to process payments.
- Our email provider, to deliver the transactional emails about your order.
- Our shipping and rating provider, and the carrier, when you choose shipping. They receive the delivery address and parcel details, because that is what a shipping label is.
- Our hosting and infrastructure provider, which serves the site and stores the order records and artwork.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
Cookies and similar technologies
This site uses browser storage sparingly and for functional reasons:
- To hold the sticker you are configuring while you are configuring it, so a reload does not lose your work.
- To make sure a completed order is only ever counted once, even if you refresh the confirmation page.
- To keep staff signed in to the admin area. That one is not something a customer ever encounters.
We measure aggregate usage so we can see where the ordering process causes trouble. We do not use that measurement to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
How long we keep things
Order records, including the order details and the associated artwork, are retained while the business relationship is live and afterwards for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Quote requests and contact messages are kept while they are useful for answering you and for any follow-up.
If you would like a specific retention period in writing for your own records, ask us and we will tell you what currently applies.
Your choices, and how to request deletion
Write to [email protected] or call 631-458-3842 and tell us what you want. You can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we hold about you.
- Correct something that is wrong.
- Delete your artwork files.
- Delete your contact details and stop contacting you.
Include your order number if you have one, because it is the fastest way for us to find the right records. We will confirm what we have done once it is done.
One honest limitation. We cannot delete everything. Records of a completed sale have to be kept for tax and accounting purposes, so a deletion request will normally mean removing your artwork files and your contact details while retaining the minimum transaction record the law requires. We will tell you specifically what is being kept and why.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Artwork lives in private storage reachable only through an authorized route. Staff access to the admin system requires an individual account with a hashed password, and access can be revoked immediately. Card data never reaches us at all.
No system is perfect and we are not going to claim otherwise. If you believe you have found a security problem with this site, please tell us at [email protected] and we will take it seriously.
Children
This site is intended for adults placing orders, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. Schools and youth organizations ordering on behalf of students should place the order through an adult. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly.
