Take a 3 by 3 inch sticker. That is 9 square inches. Order 16 of them and the rate is 35 cents, so each one comes to $3.15 and the order comes to $50.40. Order 25 of the same sticker and the rate drops to 30 cents, so each one is $2.70 and the order is $67.50. Nine extra stickers for $17.10. That is the whole of the arithmetic, and it is worth doing before you settle on a count, because the band you land in moves the total more than almost anything else you decide.

The same logic runs the rest of the way up the table. Push a run past 50, or past 100, and the rate steps again. Size and quantity are the two dials.

The ten piece line, and what it is not

An order qualifies at 10 or more pieces, or at $10 of merchandise, whichever comes first. Either one on its own is enough. A single large sticker can clear $10 by itself and qualify without a second piece beside it. A handful of small ones can clear 10 pieces without coming close to $10.

This is a qualifying line, not a price floor. It does not mean a small order is charged up to a minimum. It means an order has to reach one of those two marks before there is an order to work on.

Artwork, and the cut that goes around it

A die cut follows the outline of the design rather than a rectangle drawn around it. The shape of the artwork is the shape of the sticker, so it is worth deciding early. A mascot with a thin tail, or a banner with a long ribbon end, reads differently as a cut shape than it does on a screen.

Send the art at the size you want it made, or tell us the finished width and height and we will scale to it. If you want a border that follows the outline, say how thick. If you want the cut tight against the ink instead, say that. Where a design has fine interior gaps, the small enclosed spaces inside letterforms for example, expect those to stay filled rather than be cut away, unless you ask otherwise and the shape allows for it.

The shop is one storefront at 205 East Main Street in Huntington, and the printing and the cutting both happen there. Hicksville sits 10.4 miles south west of that counter as the crow flies. Local pickup is free if you would rather collect an order than have it sent, and a good number of people do exactly that. Otherwise we ship anywhere in the United States.

Who tends to be on the other end of the order

The fundraising committee. You have a target number and a budget that has to survive contact with it. Price two sizes at two counts before you choose, because a slightly smaller sticker at a higher count can cost less per piece and still earn the same at the table.

The spirit run organiser. Runners, volunteers and the families who turn up to watch all want one, and the count is never the count you first wrote down. Settle the shape and the size, then pick the quantity band you can defend, and order to the band rather than to a guess.
