The cut follows your artwork, so the outline needs to be something a blade can sensibly trace. A closed shape with a clear edge works. A design that dissolves into nothing at its border gives the cut nowhere to go, and a contour offset around the whole mark is the usual answer.

Fine detail is worth a second look at bottle scale, since a mark that reads well across a laptop lid can lose its thinnest strokes and smallest lettering once reduced.
