The question that comes up before any other

An order qualifies at 10 or more pieces, or at $10 of merchandise, whichever comes first. Those are two separate doors and you only need to walk through one of them. A tiny sticker in small numbers may not reach $10 on its own, and that is fine, because ten pieces clears it. A larger design can clear the ten dollar mark well before it reaches ten pieces, and that clears it too.

Read that as a qualifying line rather than a price floor. You are not topped up to a minimum charge. You pay what the square inches and the quantity band say you pay, and the minimum only decides whether the order goes through at all.

A very short hop to the next village over

Getting the artwork into cuttable shape

Die-cut means the blade path follows the outline of your art instead of boxing it into a rectangle. Logos tend to suit this well, because most of them are already a distinct silhouette rather than a square of colour. Send the largest version of the file you have. Keep important detail back from the outer edge so the cut line has somewhere to sit. Give very thin strokes a little more weight than looks necessary on screen, since a hairline at 2 by 2 inches is a genuinely small mark.

Four kinds of run we see all the time

A band ordering its first stack. You have one logo and not much of a budget. The honest advice is to pick a modest size and let the quantity do the work. Moving from 24 pieces to 25 costs nothing extra, and moving up to 50 or 100 changes the per piece figure again.

A small label with more than one act on the roster. Each act wants its own design, and each design is its own item on the order. Because the qualifying minimum is measured against the order rather than against each design, a label can put two or three modest runs together and clear the line comfortably.

Whoever ends up running the table. Sometimes the person placing the order is not in the band at all. You want a design that reads from a couple of feet away and a count that will not run out halfway through the night. That usually pushes people toward the 100 to 249 band, where the rate is 26 cents.

The artist working from a drawing. You have an ink sketch, not a vector file. Scan it or photograph it as large and as evenly lit as you can manage, and send that. A bold drawing with a clear outer boundary is the easiest to turn into a cut shape.
